The stillness of its 170 km2 that form the lagoon, with floating icebergs and the Ventisquero with its constant and thunderous icefalls of thousands of years, are the main attraction of the route. On board our zodiac boats, you will depart for the even closer encounter of the San Rafael Glacier and the numerous icebergs that float around you. At the end of the excursion you can enjoy an exquisite Whiskey with millenary ice that dates back more than 20,000 years.
Day 1 Santiago-Balmaceda- Puerto Chacabuco: departure at Balmaceda airport, and start of the tour that will take you to our Hotel Loberías del Sur located in Puerto Chacabuco, for which you must travel part of the Austral highway, a route that connects the continent provinces of Llanquihue and Palena with the Aysén region, passing through the beautiful city of Coyhaique. During this tour, you can witness a small sample of the impressive landscape that is part of these latitudes, since we will be crossing the Andes Mountains through the Chilean Patagonia.
Arrival at our Hotel Loberías del Sur, taking the beautiful Bay of Puerto Chacabuco as the stage. In this hotel they will spend the night during the three nights of stay in the region. At dusk, a Welcome Dinner at the Hotel, including an appetizer, appetizer, main course, dessert and coffee.
Day 2 Laguna San Rafael: At 08:00 hrs. They will become part of an unforgettable journey aboard a catamaran that will take them through islands, channels and Patagonian fjords, which will offer an unimaginable spectacle to the visitor, until finally arriving at the wonderful Laguna San Rafael at 2:00 p.m. The stillness of its 170 km2 that form the lagoon, with floating icebergs and the Ventisquero with its constant and thunderous icefalls of thousands of years, are the main attraction of the route. On board our zodiac boats, you will depart for the even closer encounter of the San Rafael Glacier and the numerous icebergs that float around you. At the end of the tour you can enjoy an exquisite Whiskey with millenary ice that dates back more than 20,000 years. The stay will be between 02 and 03 hours to begin the return to Puerto Chacabuco where they will arrive at approximately 9:00 p.m., they will be transferred to our hotel where they can enjoy a comforting rest after having enjoyed a day full of magic and unforgettable emotions.
Day 3 Visit to the Private Park “Aiken del Sur” In the morning (10:00 hrs.), A bus will take you from the “Hotel Loberías del Sur”, for 15 minutes through a road of singular beauty in Patagonia, until reaching the final destination: the “Aiken del Sur Private Park”. In it, they will begin an expedition in which they will combine the adventure, the contact with the virgin nature of Patagonia, the excitement and the exquisite food of the area (Asado Patagón).
The “Parque Aikén del Sur” offers natural beauties such as its Ribera in Lago Riesco, Lake of 14 km2 of surface, of calm waters and of transparent blue color, a waterfall or fall of 22 meters of height; Native forests of perennial, deciduous and wet species such as ferns, some of them described, for the first time in Chile, mosses and lichens; extensive meadows where old arrayanes and tepas like chilco and calafate are combined; a macal and mallines or swamps.
The park is implemented with a great infrastructure for the comfort of its visitors. This consists of :
* A Visitor Center equipped with hygienic services for ladies, men and disabled people, a room equipped for first aid, a handicraft shop and interactive exhibits that tell about the flora, fauna and anthropology of the region. In it you will be welcomed by a group of bilingual guides, who will accompany you during the selected tour.
* Three natural paths, equipped with special pavements, walkways, bridges, lookouts and breaks that will tell the bio-geographical history of the place through educational stations. In them you will enjoy the wonderful views of the lake, hills, river and mountains that make up the Andes mountain range in Patagonia. Also, during this tour, you will witness the singing and proximity of “Chucao” and “Hueta”, which are some of the birds that inhabit the place.
* A “Quincho” or typical building of the area, with capacity for 140 people and formed by: Central Fogón where the traditional “Cordero Asado Patagón” is prepared, a bar where you can taste the Pisco Sour of welcome and the most exquisite wines Chileans This place also has hygienic services for ladies, gentlemen and disabled people, plus a typical crafts shop in the area.
* Lunch (roast) at the Quincho, will be entertained by a folkloric group of the area.
After this typical lunch, passengers can rest or walk the other two trails that are in the park of a basic difficulty. After that and at the agreed time, you will be taken back to the “Hotel Loberías del Sur”, where you can rest from a day full of unforgettable experiences and adventures.
At nightfall, they will participate in a pleasant farewell dinner at our Hotel, a propitious opportunity for speeches and memories of this adventure. All this accompanied by the most exquisite products of the sea and wines.
Day 4 Optional excursion After a hearty breakfast at Hotel Loberías, passengers will be transferred to carry out one of the 3 excursions available:
– Horseback riding through the Simpson River Valley: after about an hour of transfer from the hotel to Coyhaique, enjoying the spectacular scenery of the Simpson Valley, we arrive at a Hacienda Patagónica typical of the area where the guides are waiting for us to show the house management and accommodations that remain exactly the same from its construction. Once around the house and surroundings, lunch is served, which is a box lunch that includes from a pisco sour to coffee, always being part of the environment. Once the lunch is over, the guide takes the group on horseback to start touring the farm among native forests, rivers and unforgettable landscapes. This tour lasts approximately 3 hours, during which stops in some places to take a snack and rest a while. The flora and fauna of the place is impressive, being able to visualize all type of birds, rabbits, hares and another type of animal of the place.
– Fishing in the Simpson River: after about an hour of transfer from the Hotel to Coyhaique, enjoying the spectacular scenery of the Simpson Valley, we arrive at a Hacienda Patagónica typical of the area where the guides are waiting for us to show the house and the accommodations that remain exactly the same from its construction. Once the place is recognized, it begins with lunch, which is a box lunch that includes everything from appetizers to coffee. Once the lunch is over, the guides take the fishermen to the specific place of fishing to start the journey along the Simpson River, during which they provide rods, flies, fishhooks, appropriate clothing and teach the technique of fly fishing or trolling During the tour that can last about 3 hours, there are times of detention to take a snack and rest a little. (fishing should always be in the afternoon)
Day 5 Return to Santiago? After a well-deserved rest in the comfortable rooms of the Loberías del Sur Hotel and once they have breakfast, they will go back to Santiago, transported to Balmaceda airport in order to take the flight to the capital.
